Two Students Charged For Allegedly Spreading False Information in El Paso County

TWO STUDENTS IN EL PASO COUNTY HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR REPORTING FALSE INFORMATION. ACCORDING TO THE SHERIFF’’S OFFICE THE STUDENTS ALLEGEDLY POSTED MISLEADING INFORMATION REGARDING SCHOOL THREATS ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA. THIS CAUSED AUTHORITIES TO TAKE ACTION AND DISRUPT SCHOOL OPERATIONS. BOTH STUDENTS WERE CHARGED WITH INTERFERENCE OF AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION. ONE OF THEM WAS ADDITIONALLY CHARGED WITH FALSE REPORTING. THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS THEY TAKE EVERY POTENTIAL THREAT SERIOUSLY AND WILL INVESTIGATE THEM THOROUGHLY.
