BIG HOUSE = BIG OPPORTUNITY

BIG HOUSE = BIG OPPORTUNITY

Ahhh, the Big House, the home of the Michigan Football team. Air Force heads to Ann Arbor to meet the Wolverines Saturday September 16th. It’s a grand stage for Troy Calhoun and his Falcons, the same field that welcomed an unknown quarterback named Tom Brady, the same 100 yards that Desmond Howard used for his own Heisman Trophy video tape…So what do we expect from this game? Well, for one, I believe Air Force will have a better feel for what kind of team they have after this game. I don’t believe the Falcons learned much about themselves against VMI. Michigan is a much better opponent to measure yourself against…. Last week the Falcons threw the ball 9 times in the first quarter. Why, you ask? To give Jim Harbaugh, the Wolverines Head coach, and his coaching staff something to think about. Harbaugh expects the option and probably worked on it during August. The Falcons will run plenty of option plays, because Michigan is one of the youngest teams in D-1, and it’s what the Falcons do best. The Wolverines defense looked very, very good against Florida. But this is the option. And oh that passing attack……watched Geraud Sanders and Marcus Bennet in practice and both are very good. Sanders had two touchdown catches against VMI. And, don’t forget Tim Mcvey coming out of the backfield. We also saw that last Saturday. Mcvey is from Ohio and understands what playing in the Big House means. QB Arion Worthman is from Ilinois, just a five hours drive away, and wants to show Michigan what it missed by letting him get away to Colorado Springs. This game will be much closer than people think. And it’s time for the Mountain West Conference to win one of these games….Utah St fell to Wisconsin…San Jose state had a 16-0 lead over South Florida and lost…CSU lost to CU. The conference needs a “Hang Your Hat” victory. Is Saturday in Ann Arbor the day?
