A Colorado Springs man whose leg was amputated after he developed an infection at the El Paso County Jail is threatening to sue.
The Gazette reports that 60 year old Don Woodson blames his injury on mistakes by Colorado Springs Police and El Paso County Deputies.
He’s demanding up to $15 million from each agency. In February Woodson barricaded himself in a home after a domestic violence incident.
Officers went in and in the process of arrest Woodson was bitten by a police dog.
His wounds became infected in jail, leading to the amputation. Representatives of the city and county declined to comment, citing potential litigation.
