One person dead, numerous others hurt after tragic accident on I-25 in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY -A crash with a deer at about 1:00 A.M. Monday morning left one person dead and as many as 12-other people injured. According to Master Trooper Gary Cutler, several people got out of the vehicle that hit the deer and they were hit by other cars.

Numerous vehicles are involved in the accident and South Metro Fire says they took nine people to area hospitals. The southbound lanes of the interstate were closed until just after 7:00 A.m.remain closed as of 7:00 a.m. The northbound lanes were closed overnight and reopened at 3:30 a.m.
