COLORADO SPRINGS–Officials with the City of Fountain say an active-duty soldier is under arrest facing charges related to sexual exploitation of children. Twenty-six-year-old Joseph Smith was taken into custody Wednesday and booked into the El Paso County Justice Center without bond. Authorities say the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip last month and conducted a search at a home on Berry Farm Road just south of Fountain Fort Carson High School. During a search, investigators say they found enough evidence to arrest Smith. Details on whether Smith is stationed at Fort Carson are currently unknown.
